Dasiatids (Dasyatidae Jordan & Gilbert, 1879) are a cartilaginous family of fish of the order Myliobatiformes, Class Chondrichthyes, Subclass, Elasmobranchiiche, which includes species of salt water and freshwater commonly known as stingrays. Pastinaca a macchie blu o Trigone a macchie blu - Taeniura Lymma
Pastinaca a macchie nere - Taeniura meyeni
Trigone Pastinaca - Dasyatis Pastinaca
Trigone Viola - Pteroplatytrygon Violacea
Description
They are characterized by a flat rhomboid body, with a lateral margin of the head that continues with the front margin of the large pectoral fins in the shape of wings. The largest species reach 4 m in length. The eyes are placed on the back, the mouth is ventral. The dorsal fin is absent or barely sketched. The tail is thin and long, and is equipped with a poisonous sting; in larger specimens, the spine can reach up to 35-40 centimeters in length, has a serrated profile and is covered by an epithelial sheath. At the root of the spine there are two venom glands that secrete a substance composed of the 5-nucleotidase and phosphodiesterase enzymes, which destroy cells, and serotonin, which causes muscle contractions. The action of this enzymatic complex is necrotizing and this is combined with the possibility of even serious bacterial infections.
If the interested party is a vital organ, the course can become deadly (see the example of the television presenter Steve Irwin, who died in Australia following numerous shots received by a trigone on September 4, 2006).

Biology
They are benthic animals that spend most of their time resting on the bottom, covered by sand or mud.
Supply
The diet of dasiatids includes molluscs, worms, crustaceans and fish.
Reproduction
They are ovoviviparous animals, in which the eggs are incubated and hatch in the maternal organism. Dasiatidi Dasyatidae Chondrichthyes Pastinaca Trigone intotheblue.it

Distribution and habitat
Dasiatids are present in the waters of the Atlantic ocean, the Indian ocean and the Pacific. In the Mediterranean Sea the family is present with 6 species: Dasyatis centroura, Dasyatis marmorata, Dasyatis pastinaca, Himantura uarnak (migrante lessepsiana), Pteroplatytrygon violacea and Taeniura grabata.
Most species live in salt water but there are also species of fresh and brackish water.
