La Mostella o Musdea, (Phycis phycis), e un pesce appartenente alla classe Actinopterygii all’ ordine Gadiformes ed alla famiglia Phycidae. E’ comune in tutto il Mar Mediterraneo e vive ad una profondità che va dai 20 ai 650 metri. Predilige gli anfratti delle scogliere sabbiose o fangose perché vi trova facilmente riparo. Raggiunge i 40-50 cm di lunghezza ed un peso che può arrivare a circa 3 kg.
